On my previous fiesta (not stop start) the battery was just over 10 years old when replaced. Come to think about it, I've only replaced 2 batteries in over 50 years of driving. In both cases 9 or 10 years old, and only because they were failing to hold sufficient charge to start the car reliably. My Mrs's car (not a Ford, admittedly 😀) is Do all of this and the Ford 1.0L EcoBoost can deliver great reliability. Luck does play a role, and sometimes people run into random, fluky failures. We can’t control that, and it can be said for any engine. In summary, Ford 1.0 EcoBoost engines are very efficient and economic. Probably that you may have air conditioning on , extra fan speed all draining the battery. Only takes a little bit extra draw of current to prevent the stop start not to work.

With only 39k miles on the clock, it's had two clutches and a new gearbox. It looks good, drives well until of course you're in the mechanics workshop handing over money. Shoddy build quality I had a 2013 100ps ecoboost ( bought new) went all over in it including a few trips to the south coast on holiday the only problem I had was once it wouldn’t start and had to be transported to the ford garage, turned out to be a relay, all fixed under warranty, traded it in last October for a new 100ps titanium , as I don’t do a lot of mileage it only had 24000, on it , but used no oil Now in the TEST menu, I can see that the charging is floating between 11.7 to 14.6. In the morning, when the engine is not working the TEST menu shows 11.6, 11.9 When I start the engine voltage raises by 14.6 and after some time reverts back to 12 or 11.7. Not sure if a problem with the alternator or the new battery. General transmission issues have been a problem with the Ford Focus for a while now, with the 2014 earning more than a thousand powertrain complaints with the NHTSA and over 3,000 complaints of jerking and hesitation with Car Complaints. By comparison, the 2017 Focus is a step in the right direction, but still far from perfect. K6RiGnC.
